Best of all is the easy access residents have to Curletts Reserve, described by some as the “Hagley Park” of the future, right next to Aidanfield.

The reserve, landscaped with indigenous plants, and the lake, attract a variety of waterbirds.
Enjoy the lovely walking and running track around the lake and another major walkway meandering along the bank of the Heathcote River. Part of this reserve has been set aside for future development of extensive sporting facilities which, when complete, will rival those of the central city.

Aidanfield is within easy driving distance of Christchurch’s internationally acclaimed universities: Canterbury and Lincoln. The best way to get to them? No doubt the journey begins at Aidanfield’s own pre-school and continues through one of the many primary or secondary schools within a two-kilometre radius.
Not only is Aidanfield a mere 15 minutes’ drive from the cosmopolitan urban facilities of Christchurch city, it is also on a major public transport route to the city centre.

At Halswell village, the well-established community facilities include a large aquatic centre, day-care facilities, shopping services including supermarket, post office, doctor, dentist and hairdresser and many community and sporting organizations have developed amongst the existing community.
